Free Hugs

http://gassia-bloggy.blogspot.com/2006/10/amazing-inspirational-video.html

(Please check out the link first and watch the video to understand what this post is about. Thanks.)

What's the point of giving hugs to people who are leading a good life??? If this person wants to signal that this world is empty of love and sympathy than he should go to an orphanage or a place with poor, ill people and give them as many hugs as he can because these people are the ones who are in need for that.

Going to people who are leading a normal, good life and showing compassion to them is pointless and superfluous.. It's not signaling anything..But looking for people who have AIDS, leprosy and other deseases is indeed a meaningful and sensible way to appeal to the world for more love and sympathy!

Another thing.. I believe that people who want to change the world should start with the close ones first.. That means if you want more sympathy in the world .. then you should sympathize with your family and friends..If you want more justice in the wolrd.. then you should be fair with the ones around you.. If you want more aid in the world.. then you should help the people who you get in touch with..

So, it always starts with you and by doing what is right you have already made the world a little bit better than it is..

@Gehad: Ok, I totally agree with you that people do have problems which they don't show..
And you're also right about the rest of what you've said about humans..
BUT: Would you really feel better if a stranger just came along and gave you a hug?
Wouldn't you be more touched and affected if someone that you really like/love took you in his/her arms and showed you much he/she loves you and cares about you?

well nadia i totally agree with geegz...its not only abt illness..it abt how badly a soul can be hurt...u mite never see it ..but its still inside there..for me da guy in da video seemed SO LONELY that he needed a hug from ANYONE...no matter who...u see he didnt jst like say i want only hug from cute gurls...he hugged everyone...he needed it really cuz he was alone and hurt!...if i wud hav seen da guy i wud have hugged him and signed too for sure!

@Mori: When someone reaches the stage of being ''SO LONELY'' then there is definitely (99,9%) a problem with him..
I'd even say, he's in need for a psychiatrist because no matter how different you are from the people around you, there's always someone who's a bit like you and if you can't get along with anyone then you're simply a hopeless case and in need for professional help..
So, walking around and getting hugs from people he deosn't know won't help him much because by hugging him and then walking away they haven't changed anything about his loneliness..
It doesn't matter how many people have hugged you in your life but how many people kept holding in their arms..
And here we come to the main point: What difference does it make when someone just gives you a hug and walks away without talking about it or standing by your side?

@Gehad: About my contradiction:
You asked me if there were ''better ways to show that this world needs more sympathy and love''..
I answered your question: by ''visitng orphans and ill people'' who don't have anyone who would hug them.. I think that would even revive more compassion in the hearts of the people watching such videos..

And about the loneliness..
Why shouldn't be there ''anybody who's ready to hug you'' or ''who's actually always there for you''??
Either one has chosen the wrong people or something is wrong with him..
Maybe there are other reasons but right now I can't think of any..

btw: shahira says (I QUOTE! she's right beside me!): "free hugs are CUTE! they make someone smile. if i get a free hug on the street from a complete stranger, i'll smile :D! HIHI!"
gehad: "is there anything else you wanna share with the world?"
Shahira: "no thanks! that's enough for you, my untertan!"

I guess the first thing I should do is:
@Shahira: Welcome to my blog!! Happy that you could stop by. :D
So, you would be smiling if someone just hugged you.. And then? ...
@Gehad: Interesting end regarding the conversation between you and Shahira.

Turned out that Shahira meant: ..., my untertanen (slaves)!
So she was talking about all of us. :D
