Unbelievable (-.-)

Today we were sititng in the Leseraum discussing what our Abi-ball (prom) will be like.
Suddenly one of the girls said: ''We have to write on the tickets that parents have to leave at 11 pm!''
Excuse me? I can't believe someone would dare to say something like that. And what's even worse? All the girls agreed on that saying things like: ''Yeah they must leave so we can enjoy the rest of the evening on our way..'', ''After all, that's our big evening, not theirs.. So, why should they stay?'' and ''As soon as it's 11 pm I will tell (not ask) my mother to leave.''
I remained silence at the beginning but in the end I really couldn't help it and just said:
''You know what, I think they should stay until the end. Would be a great chance for them to see how they failed in raising up their children.''

One thing is sure: I'm leaving with my Grandma and I won't stay one single minute there without her!!!

PS: To enlighten you a bit: The reason why they don't want their parents to stay is so they can start drinking, smoking and all the ************ they do behind their parents' back all the time.

3 things I hate about nice people

We all hope to get to know nice people. After all, who likes mean ones?
But there are still a few things which really bother me about 60% of the nice people I know:

  • They never criticize you in order of being nice which means that they can keep watching you doing wrong things while remaining silent (I personally hate that!)
  • You often get irritated by their smiles because you never know what they really think
  • When they say ''thanks'' you aren't sure if they are just saying it because they mean it or just out of politeness
Well, maybe these people are amazing and I'm just some kind of a psycho who doesn't appreciate them but my definition of ''nice'' is that one is kind and generous but also honest and open.

Removing MSN

Hey people (who chat with me on MSN),
I have some news for you:
I removed MSN! And I owe you an explanation for that:
Well, it's not only because of the exams and studies of the next 2 weeks but I also started wondering:

  1. Why should I chat with people I see everyday at school?
I can talk to them at school and if they are friends I can go out with them. Rarely talking to certain people at school and then chatting with them for hours on MSN is just lame somehow.
  2. The people I don't see everyday at school like family members, friends, etc.
There's still a great invention called a ''phone'' and another one named ''Skype''. The phone is for the ones who are living with me in this country. Skype is for my relatives and friends who are not living in this country. (Except Gassia, as we use Skype so we don't get into troubles with our families as the phone line is often busy thanks to us :D)
  3. MSN does great job when it comes to get to know people but it also has its disadvantages because if these people are always just ''typing'' then the whole relationship is kind of ''electronized'' which I personally don't regard as a real relationship. (Gassia asked me to add that she is not my friend regarding this statement.)
  4. MSN is like a drug. You can get addicted to the whole chatting thingy so fast, easily and without taking it into consideration. So, in my case removing it was kind of self-discipline.
All in all, I don't know if I will reinstall MSN or not... Still thinking...
So, we'll see..

Spent 567'648'000 seconds on this planet!

6th of January, 1990

Well, that was 536'112'000 seconds ago. And now I'm finally of age! =D
And when I look back I notice that during the last 567'648'000 seconds I spent:
  • 409'968'000 seconds going to the German school in Cairo (that would be 72% of my life!)
  • 63'072'000 seconds doing the stupid Abitur (If I included 10th grade it would be 94'608'000 seconds)
  • 157'680'000 seconds living continuously at my Grandma's place
  • 220'752'000 seconds loving Anime and Mangas
  • And 2'400 seconds on the following:
May I present you my new logo. You will find all the letters of my name written in it! ;)

Why I waited until 10:10 AM?
Well, I was on born on a Friday at 10:10 AM! So, NOW I can consider myself as really 18! ;)

Now about today's highlights:
  • I will get the keys of the flat (FINALLY!)
  • I will get my ID card (for some reason my Grandma was convinced that I will lose it?!) (-.-)
  • Amr is coming! =) (relative who lived in the US and I haven't seen him for 3 years!)
  • my Grandma was talking about some surprise.. We'll see what it is =)
And will any party take place? Nooooo. Not in need of it as my family has already celebrated my birthday on New Year's Eve and that was the best evening (party?) ever!

(That would be 2040 seconds writing this post! =D But blogger writes the time when I have started writing it.)
That means 9:36 AM + 34 minutes = 10:10 AM ;)

Thank you so much for everything!

(This post is dedicated to my family.)

We were invited at my aunt's place because it was the second day of Eid. And after having dinner there was a huge cake and it turned out that it is for the ones whose birthdays are in January.. That would be me and my Grandmother in the first place and then 3 other family members. And we even got presents. (It was adorable, thank you!)
I was really, really touched and I guess I won't be in need for doing anything on my birthday any more.
Then when it was about 12 my cousins weren't there.. And I was freaking out because I really wanted to do that counting thingy for the first time in my life! But they made it in time and arrived at 11:57pm. So, we did the counting thingy and it was just amazing to start the new year surrounded by the family .
It was a wonderful evening (+night) and I really enjoyed it!

Thank you all so much for everything, the birthday cake was perfect.
No, no, you're perfect and I feel honoured to be part of this family!

Love you all,
Nadia
